Cash Payment Settlements

Overview

When a user selects cash as a payment method, the merchant collects the full order amount directly. However, the company (CashOver) is still entitled to collect the associated platform fees.

To ensure fairness and financial transparency, CashOver automatically deducts those due fees from the merchant's account balance — even for cash-based transactions.

If the merchant’s balance becomes insufficient to cover fees, the balance may go negative, indicating that the merchant owes CashOver money.

❗ A negative balance is treated as merchant debt. Repeated non-settlement can lead to legal and operational consequences.

Fee Deduction Policy

  • For every cash order, platform fees are automatically deducted from the merchant's balance.
  • If the balance is insufficient, the merchant’s balance goes negative.
  • A negative balance means the merchant must settle the due amount in full.

Partial settlements are not accepted.

Notification and Reminders

To ensure awareness and compliance:

  • On the 25th of every month, merchants with negative balances will receive:
    • An email notification
    • A push notification (in the CashOver Merchant app or website)

These reminders urge the merchant to complete the required settlement before further actions are taken.

How to Settle Due Amounts

To clear a negative balance, follow this process:

  1. Visit a registered CashOver agent or ATM.
  2. Scan the agent's QR code.
  3. Select “Settle Due Balance” in the app.
  4. The agent confirms your total due amount.
  5. Pay the full due balance (partial payments are not allowed).
  6. Once verified, the settlement is instantly reflected in your merchant account.

Summary

Cash-based payments shift full order responsibility to the merchant. CashOver ensures fee collection by auto-deducting from the merchant's balance — even if it causes a negative balance. Merchants must settle dues in full monthly via our authorized agents or ATMs to avoid penalties or legal action.
